The Spine Patient Society (SPS) has some exciting news to share. The SPS has been invited to represent the Spine Patient community and will be an official exhibitor at this years International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS) Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
The SPS, being the world's first Society, and only one of it's kind, solely representing Spine Patients, is most excited about this opportunity and we are looking forward to fostering meaningful relationships with those performing ground-breaking research and providing exceptional clinical care to Spine Patients around the world.

2008 Jones Fracture Left foot, lateral disc herniation L5-S1 impinging left L5 nerve root. Burn down left leg.
2009 1 yr PT and 1st Epidural series
2010 Tried the "Don't piss it off approach"
2011 2nd Epidural series & more PT. Referral for L5-S1 Laminotomy & Discectomy w/ ISD (Cancelled)
5/2011 1st Standing X-ray shows Scoliosis curve 35 degrees & lateral listhesis @ grade 2 on left at L4-L5.
1/17/2012 Laminotomy and Discectomy L5-S1 left with Dr. Fabien Bitan NYC, NY

2009: 1st spine problem, damage to the spine when lifting heavy objects at work. Constant pain from several spine levels - L5/S1 herniation + L2/L3 instability
2010: 1st surgery - L5/S1 endoscopic discectomy, L4/L5 Foraminotomy
2010: 2nd surgery - L5/S1 discectomy with intersomatic lumbar cage Neolif, interspinous spacer InSwing at L4/L5
2010 : 3rd surgery - L2/L3 interspinous spacer InSwing at L2/L3
Enormous relief from pain now, but still some problems.

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

How awesome! Congratulations on all your hard work Justin! How I'd love to go to Spain!
31 years old- 1/06- In wreck with 18 wheeler at 25 years old; 6/06- Head on collision on Interstate, both wrecks other drivers fault. Numerous MRI's, PT, chiropractic, acupuncture, TENS therapy, massage therapy, facet injections, epidural injections, Nerve study, Discogram, confirms pain in L4/5, IDET, decompression, Bi-lateral neurotomy L3/4/5, denied by insurance twice, in Active L clinical trial, had surgery March 17, 2009 in Miami, FL- received Active L disc at 29 years old. Pain and medication free as of October 2010!Mommy to Emma- 8 years, Ava- 6 years & had baby Eli after ADR, via c-section on March 25, 2011, completely pain free still!
