    Question Mark ADR Market Data Needed

    I am looking for ADR market data to use in my appeal, such as;

    # cervical discs sold by year (last several years)

    # cervical discs projected by year (next several years)

    Same thing for lumbar, although this is not as important, since my appeal will be for cervical.

    I have read market reports like this in my past when I worked for a startup company and we needed the data for business plans. Typically, these reports cost $2,000 and up. I am obviously not going to pay two grand for the data. All I need is the specific summary numbers above. If someone has access to this data, please PM me. I am not asking for an illegal copy of a report, just a few numbers. Sometimes, you can find the numbers in annual reports or other industry newsletters, but I have not found any yet.

    Sorry, I've been off the radar recently. I'm buried in research and writing for my insurance battle. The body still hurts, but I'm making it OK. I should be able to come up for air soon.

    Thanks,

    Phil

    I received a couple of market numbers everyone may be interested in.

    Total Annual Cervical Artificial Disc Sales in the U.K. and Germany (currently)

    U.K. - 1,600 units

    Germany - 8,500 units

    I'll share more numbers as I am able to obtain them.

    The best I could come up with was Croatia - 1. Probably not a good example for insurance purposes though....

    Seriously though, I had a pre-approval from Aetna then had to fight tooth and nail to get some reimbursement and it's ongoing after 1 1/2 years. Beware of a "conditional" approval. It leaves a door open to deny coverage.

    Good luck Phil. I hope you succeed. You've worked hard on this.

    Here's an excellent 2009 report with market volume, sales and ASP (average sales price) projections for artificial discs and other spinal procedures. It included the information I needed for my appeal. I have not been able to locate the 2010 report yet, so I'm issuing other internet sleuths like myself a challenge to see if you can find it!
