One well known ADR surgeon indicates that it is critical for the surgeon to use bone wax to prevent the growth of osteophytes around the end of the ADR which could cause autofusion. The following Wiki page lists some adverse reactions, including infection, associated with the use of bone wax.
Bone wax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It also mentions a bone wax substitute called Ostene.
Ostene, water soluble bone hemostasis material, bone wax alternative
This is probably micro-analysis for someone of my limited ADR knowledge, but I would like to know if anyone has ever had discussions with ADR surgeons that addressed the use of bone wax or Ostene?
Thanks,
Phil
