    Default c7-T1 ADR

    Hi,

I;m back again after a long hiatus. My surgery on c5-c6 last year is going great and all my nerve damage symptoms are gone. Pain is still there but according to doc, they can't eradicate neck arthiritis. However, I am back because I am now epxoerinecing nerve damage symptoms on my left side and they think it's my c7-T1 disc that is now causing the problems. I was just wondering if anyone has had surgery on this particular disc and how the outcome went? Also, is ADR possible on this level or only fusion? I have my EMG tomorrow and they will see if I need another MRI with Contrast. They want to try to avoid another MRI but will do it if necessary. I am just so familiar with this pain and can tell what might be donw from my previous experience. I would appreciate any insights you might have.

There isn't much movement at that level of the neck, according to the docs I consulted, so motion preservation technology might not be as important as it is at higher disc levels. Fusion might not be a bad choice in that case. Are there any alternatives to ADR and fusion that have been recommended?
Diagnosed in February, 2011, with "moderately-severe to severe" stenosis at C 5-6 and C 6-7
I have nerve root compression of C-6 and C-7
Local surgeons have advised I will require a two-level ADCF at some point, but don't want to do it now because of lack of spinal cord compression symptoms.

lolenona, I am sorry you are experiencing pain at this new level. Not good. I can't say I have ever heard of anyone having an adr at that particular level. It just doesn't have the level of movement as the ones above. I will be curious to know what your EMG and MRI show. Any results from that yet? I hope you get some answers and relief soon.
