Just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday!!!

I barely remember my withdrawal stage, but it was not pleasant. I'm still on a bit of pain medication, but had to drop from 350mg to 40mg or so in just a week. I was so miserable I wasn't even smart enough to know it was withdrawal

I hope your insomnia passes soon. That is a real energy drainer.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Happy Birthday and congratulations on being narcotic-free!

I did the cold turkey thing in 2003 and it was absolutely awful.

The insomnia may last a couple weeks. The withdrawal symptoms coming off of narcotics (opioids) depends on many factors: the dose you were on, duration of use, any other medications you are taking, any kidney/liver problems, etc. Good luck!

It is absolutely wonderful that you are pain free. Congrats. I'm sure the pain pill addiction insomnia will end soon. Try Melatonin early in the day and by night it will make you sleepy. I don't think there is anything addictive about it. For me, when I took it before bed, it didn't work but it worked the next afternoon like a sleeping pill.
