Nearly 7 months ago I had 2 dics replaced with Pro disc lumbar L3-4,L4-5
The first 2 month`s were ok,then the pain started. After a few months of diagnostic therpy
it was decided that I needed Paradigm SpinsDSS® Slotted Coupler installed at L3-4,L4-5
The Surgery was performed here in Delaware By Bruce Rudin, MD First State Orthopedics He is also the doctor who did my pro disc surgery . Its funny how in a month or 2 we start saying the surgery went well , No big deal . man I totally forgot how bad this hurts. There is one good thing that when I get released today or tommorrow I will be home in 20 min maybe then I will get some sleep .

    Hi Greg,

We pretty much have the same hardware in our spines. The lumbar levels are a little different, but it's pretty close.

I wish you the very best during your recovery. The first few days are rough--just remember that each day gets better. Make sure to remember the small victories. Listen to your body: slow and steady wins this race.

    Goodluck!

I came home last night it is so nice to have complete silence at night .I actually got to sleep in 4 hour spurts. I had to laugh this morning at 3 I was getting into bed to lay on my stomach instead of laying down then spinning I just got on all 4s and slowly lowered down but while I was doing that my new implants were talking to me they were creaking like an old wooden door hinge .a very small amount of pain went with that it was funny that you asid to listen to my body.I am missing my ice pack they had me on at the hospital it was connected to a machine that kept it cold all the time .it was very thin and easy to lay on .

Almost a month out of surgery. still taking deluded 3-4 times a day ,I have tried to stop taking the meds but the pain is still too much to handle.I am getting around allot better, still cant put on my own socks. I don't know if its normal but when my pain starts to flair my hips start hurting in the front and sides.I still cant bend forward maybe 20 deg that's it .I am still icing at least 5-6 times a day.I can now walk, stand for about an hour Just long enough to take my kids to baseball practice.I can drive but for some reason I have to wear my back brace or else it feels like i`m getting stabbed with an ice pick,I cant sit back in a chair either same feeling .I guess as the muscles heal it will be ok.
Still creaking at times it almost makes me sick when it does it . hopefully next month I will be feeling allot better.
