I'm wrapping up for a few days here on the forum.
Tomorrow will hopefully mark a new chapter in my life. The desire and prayer is to sustain a life that is capable of walking without pain and playing with my girls without having to stop and sit down.
I'm pretty skittish right now. Normally when I get antsy about something I do some sort of physical labor that relieves the stress. The most I can do right now is simply watch basketball, which, honestly is a stress release. I love this time of year with the tournament. Rock chalk Jayhawk!
It's truly hard to believe, that this is it! With all of the crap that happened prior to this, I didn't think I would ever have an opportunity to allow a medical procedure potentially provide me relief.
Oh, get this, I had an Aetna nurse call me just about an hour ago. Calling to say how much they care and are there for me during my hospital stay and recovery. I literally felt like barfing all over the floor. It took quite a bit of restraint to not say anything negative; however, the nurse is simply doing a job. She may dislike Aetna as much as I do. She was pleasant, which is always the case. We have a special group of Aetna employees that provide us the customer service for Lockheed Martin; that might have something to do with it. It was still pretty aggravating though
Thanks for all the support. Will check back in when I'm feeling up to it.

I hope you are in recovery already and relaxing. May all your old pain be only a memory when you wake. Godspeed with your recovery!
BTW: I am an Air Force Veteran too (Ramstein/Hurlburt Fld. (Desert Storm era)). As for the tournament, I'm a Buckeye alum,...I think Kansas and Ohio State will meet in the final. That should be a great game!
Let us know how you are doing when you are up to it.

I'm doing alright. Walked a couple of times.
Not allowed water or ice chips until I fart. How long will that take?
That's awesome! I couldn't even think about walking the first day, so am amazed at those that do.
OMGosh, you just cracked me up. I can't remember, but I know it took a bit for my system to get going again. I would highly recommend starting on a stool softener/ laxative right away. I don't even remember when I ate for the first time, but I think it was well into day 2 before I got the urge to want to eat.
I asked my doctor what would happen if for some reason my scar tissue is to where I can't have a spinal for my c-section, he said we will do general then. My next question, if we do that, how long until you let me eat? Gotta get the important things taken care of, and food is one of mine! LOL Luckily he said that he wasn't restrictive on it and felt that your body would let you know when it was time, that if you felt like eating, then eat, if not, don't. This made me happy as I've heard of women being starved after these.

Matt,
Have you asked any of the nurses to pull your finger? That used to work for my uncle.
I don't have any advice for you in that area. Since I was a boy, that's been my primary talent. On command. Most often used as revenge on road trips in cold weather.
Glad to hear you made it to the other side safely!
