    SENT AN EMAIL TO CLAVEL:

Dr Clavel,Wanted to set up a call with you. I am pretty set with you, but I have some questions.

    1. What method of anterior fusion do you use(instrumentation)? If one had unstable spondylolisthesis, isnt an anterior fusion usually ruled out?

    2. Why did you recommend me an ADR at L4/L5? Do you feel my disc at L4/L5 is degenerated beyond a normal limit and causing many of my symptoms?

    3. With the anterior approach to fusion, wouldn't the pars interarticularis/ lamina fracture still be there?

    4. The purpose of the fusion in this case is to stabilize and decompress the L5/S1 vertebral bodies?

    5. When is an estimated procedure date if we decide to do one?

    6. What are your preferred methods of payment?

    Thank You

    Dr. S-

I hope all goes well for you. I wanted to apologize to you for the delay in contact from Dr. Clavel at the beginning of the month. He was getting back from the NASS conference in Chicago, then he performed my 3 level replacement on Nov 9th. I am about 2 1/2 weeks post-op and doing as well as can be expected. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Good luck with all the pre-op arrangements,
    Kim

    Hey everyone,

Sorry for the disappearance, I have been traveling alot recently.. enjoying life.

Its been a cat and mouse game with clavel., But finally I was able to have a phone call with him and I talked to him for about 10 mintues. He answered my questions well, and we decided the surgery was a go!

He sent me a qoute and mentioned he wanted to do further testing when i got there.

I am currently waiting on my surgery date which will be after FEB 5th. So I will keep everyone updated.

    thanks
