Default New here. Looking into ADR.

Hello. My name is John. I;ve been researching spines for sometime now because I have problems with my lumber spine. Dealing with pain for 15 years and now looking into surgery because I can;t take it any longer. I met 3 spine surgeons. 2 want to fuse and 1 mentioned artificial disc at l4/l5.

Hey John - Welcome - sorry to hear of the L4L5 It can get to be a bear after some time - I waited 10 yr's with the same level you have. Was always the issue - was offered fusion early on in that process but it woudl ahve had to have been a 2 level as L3L4 was already herinated so they would have had to include it - since all of my lumbar was bulging I met too many in PT who once they started the fusion process kept having to be fused more. So i held out not always easy to do as you know. I then heard of ADR coming so I tried to keep holding - long story but I finally got ADR at L4L5 only in 04 by Dr B in Germany and best thing I could have ever done. So research your options & know while you are in pain & that makes you want to hurry - also know the decisions you make you will have to also live with for your lifetime.
I have always been aware my neck was not grand & have some Cervical issues but also have a extra Cervical Rib that only 1 % of the population has & it is causing Compression of the Arteries so once again I am not wanting to rush into something without doing some homework is the point. Also there is a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel - Jill
