    SkyRaider,

Welcome to the Spine Patient Society.

The Spinal Kinetics M6 Artificial Disc Replacement device is impressive. There are many SPS that have recently had the M6 disc implanted. Here's the link to a quick search for "spinal kinetics m6" -- Spinal Kinetics SPS search

    I hope we can help.

M6's do look good. I know you are shopping for cervical adr, but have you tried prolotherapy? Some say its quackery, some say it helps. Just a thought, again though seek advice from a doctor and do your own research.
Riding 4 wheeler and playing basketball. Collide with guy in mid air and I hit concrete on one leg and then fall down. Wake up in pain cant move for few hours, fine few days later. Back never the same.

dec 2007 horseplaying with father, contained l5-s1 disc herniation with sciata on right leg, traction helps and time, pain free, diagnosed ddd l4/l5 and l5/s1

    SkyRaider,

It's too bad that you need any kind of cervical attention, but welcome!

I had two M6's implanted in November 2009 by Dr Clavel in Barcelona at C3/4 and C6/7 (I had fusions at C4/5 and C5/6 in 2000 and 2002). I have no sensation of loss of motion like I had after the fusions, I am pain free and have no physical limitations; though I wouldn't stand on my head, participate in Ultimate Fighting Championship or anything else like that. Since the surgery I've since been SCUBA diving in the Caribbean, run two half-marathons, one full-marathon, participated in a 100 mile bicycle race, will be running in the San Antonio Rock'n Roll marathon next month and the Cowtown Ultra-marathon in February. I don't see how I could have asked for a better outcome.

There is another member on this board that had two M6's implanted by Dr Boeree in England this summer. He can't post right now because he's off in Asia mountain climbing in the Himalayas.

Like Justin said, there are several of us here that have M6's. Hopefully some of them will chime in for you soon.

    Good luck!

    Hey SkyRaider -

Back from the Himalayas (sadly) and just came across your post. I hope you've been making progress with figuring out what might work for you.

As you've hopefully found, there are many people here to assist along the way, including a number of us who have recently gone with M6. There are also links at the following group site, so you can see reports, experiences and follow up:
    http://www.spinepatientsociety.org/forum/groups/m6ers/

If I can be of help in any way, don't hesitate to ask -
and in the meantime, best of luck to you!

    Mike,

That looks really slick. What is the technology used to make the video? Did you just paste together a bunch of images?

Yeap, basically I exported all the pictures out of the dicom viewer that came with the cd they gave me after my CT-Scan.. and then just copied them over to iMovie, set no transitions, and each slide to play 3 seconds. It gave me a wonderful 3d effect..
