Default Having a Cat Scan this morning

I have a busy day today with tests. I have a 6 month Cat Scan for my right SI Joint Fusion this morning. Before that, I have physical therapy with my regular gal. Then the Cat Scan, then I have my behavioral health evaluation thru my pain management clinic, and after that I have the physical therapy evaluation with their personnel too. That seems so redundant, but it is their protocol.......well, they just called and now the pt eval. is rescheduled for next week. That's a bit better. And during this time while I am out of the house, there is another showing this morning. Got the call late yesterday afternoon, and I scrambled to try and find someone last minute to help straighten the house up, with no success. So I attempted to break it up in small tasks so as not to hobble myself. Oh, brother, this is getting soooooo old. I need this house to sell.

    Cindylou,

You are quite busy--I can relate. This week has been nuts for me too. I've been running around like a mad man. Good luck with your jam-packed day today and I hope the CT of your right sacroiliac joint comes back looking great.

Best of luck with the house as well!

Crapola! I wrote a whole note to you earlier today and don't see it here!

I was just reminding you to take it easy as soon as possible, as a full schedule like this can really take a lot out of you. Feet up and get hubby to spoil you with a hand delivered supper, for starts

Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Katie, sorry the post got lost. But thank you guys for the support and advice. Hubby is in D.C. on business (always travels during the week) so he couldn't fix me a nice dinner, but I did stop at a restaurant on my way home yesterday afternoon after all those appts., and pick up my favorite house salad of theirs, to have later for dinner. The Cat Scan was really done quickly, which was nice. Had to wait about 40 minutes tho while they burned the CD, so was getting pretty squirmy. I don't see my SI Joint Fusion surgeon tho for 2 more months, so hopefully I won't lose the CD between now and then! The meeting with the behavioral health professional (not sure if he is a psychiatrist or psychologist) went very well. I actually really liked him. We didn't finish, so I have to go back but he's very busy, so I don't see him again till the end of the month. But he was a very good listener, and appeared genuinely interested in going back to the beginning with the bicycle accident, and then all the surgeries and procedures I have had to date. He seemed quite empathetic, so that was a nice surprise. When I told him I still wasn't getting relief from the new fentanyl patch, he remarked that they take a long time to get folks on the right dose of medication to manage their pain properly. He said, in his opinion, they still under-medicate pain patients like myself. He said they are supposed to be in the pain business but in reality it takes them forever to get someone on the right dose to manage their pain properly. He also remarked that maybe he shouldn't have told me that, but it's true. I didn't know if he was fishing for something at that point, but it sure didn't appear like it. I just listened. All in all, a good experience I would say. I was extremely wiped out when I got home tho, and I am still in my pajama's as I type this!

I'm glad you are looking after yourself, my dear You had quite a day.

The behavioral doc sounded quite good actually. It didn't sound like he was fishing to me either, just genuinely concerned with your situation. He sounds like a 'keeper'.

I don't understand why we apologize for being in comfortable clothes all the time (PJs ) We're supposed to look after ourselves and that's part of it, no? Just think of them as really comfortable lounge outfits.

    LOL!

    I second Katie.

Love the pajamas too. I wear mine many days, do try to get all dressed up and sexy for hubby every once in awhile (all dressed up to me means a) take a shower, b) fix hair in a style other than ponytail, c) put real clothes on, d) wear makeup, e) wear jewelry and f) cute undergarments... if he's lucky )

I'm building up a collection of pj's that look like "normal" clothes. I made myself a snuggle/slankie blanket thing so I can even wander round in the day in a blanket to stay warm and comfy.

Hope you're taking it easy CL after your busy busy day & the CT results turn out favourable. Do you have to wait for 2 months before you get the result from it?

This thread has got me thinking. Now that I'm a wee bit more mobile I might take a quick trip into town to get some "pj's that look like normal clothes" to hang about the house in. I've got a few pairs of gym pants but there's only 2 old pairs that I can cope with wearing as the closer fitting ones set off the nerve pain at the bottom of my spine. I've lived in them all the time since my op.
