• April 27, 2010 2nd right hip arthroscopy to remove adhesions and release psoas muscle
• September 30, 2010 lumbar facet rhizotomy
• December 9, 2010 12 bilateral lumbar trigger point and steroid injections
• December 23, 2010 12 more bilateral trigger point injections w/o steroid
• February 15, 2011 ESI bilaterally in lower lumbar...relief only for few days. Considering 1 more.

Re: L5/S1 Nerve Root Injection Just got home from another series of injections. 4 facet injections, 6 nerve root blocks and an epidural. I feel like a pin cushion right now. Legs are numb but my head is flying high. Two shots of versed, 1 soma muscle relaxer and 2 10 mg Norco's. No pain but then again, I'm sure I will feel it tomorrow.
Looks like this will continue because I really do not want to go under the knife.

C4/5 deterioration progressing quickly
MRI on lumbar shows disc herniation at L5/S1, stenosis at L3/4, L4/5, spondylosis and DDD at L2 through S1 in July, 2009
Nerve Root, Facet Injections and Epidural every 3 months. Ongoing treatment for continued degeneration.

I, too , have had numerous L5-S1 nerve blocks, and unfortunately, they did not last more than 7-10 days most everytime.
I am not trying to discourage your great results because after being in a wheelchair for 5 years, the first work I was able to do was a few days after one of my L5-S1 nerve root blocks. Oh what a feeling that was! So far everything I have tried has only had temp relief. I hope yours lasts, though, cause everyone's condition is different. Good Luck Dave!
Hi, I'm KeithSurgeries and Procedures:
- Post-laminectomy w/ DDD L2-S1
- Left side Facet L3-4, and L4-5 removed during surgery
- Severe lower back pain on left side, and left leg pain knee-foot.
- Jan. 2005: Left side Laminectomy L3- L5, Pedicle partially removed that was on nerve L3-4, L4-5
- 2007: Laser decompression of discs L3-L5
- 2005- Now: Epidural injections, nerve blocks, Radio Frequency ablations every 4 months L3-S1
- Feb. 2010: Stimulator trial failed to give relief.
