I am an "older" woman. My family has genetically had degerative lumbar discs with a loss of height. I now have this condition also. My MRI done about 2 months ago showed degenerative discs throughout the lumbar spine some foraminal narrowing, moderate spinal stenosis at L4-L5, subluxation of L4 and L5 and recent compression fracture at T10 and T11. For treatment I have mainly had PT with various exercises on my own. I will be having an epidural steroid injection this week. I know these are all only temporary procedures so I am still very active; playing tennis, golf, walking and vaious aeobics classes. In the past, I was a competitive runner but have had to give that up. I have been reading with interest some of the newer more permanent procedures and hope that they come out with some good statistics on the stem cell procedures.
