    Dave:

I sure hope that they come up with a good solution for you. It sounds like you need some major intervention to get the spine back in order. Please let me know what they decide besides the physical therapy. Hang in there and take care of yourself.

    Thanks Terry.

Had my first PT appointment last night. I took my MRI results with me to show the therapist what she had to work with. She was excited to get such a challenging case. All I know is that when I left, my right side felt great, but my left cheek was on fire. She told me that my tail bone is crooked and that the right piriformis muscle was extremely tight. I felt a little weird having a strange lady massaging my behind.

She gave me some stretching moves to perform every night and morning that I can do without causing pain. For now I will go twice a week for six weeks and if we see results, my insurance will pick up an additional 12 visits.

Maybe she can teach your wife how to give butt rubs.

Seriously though, if it helps, it is worth it. Hang in there.

Therapy seems to be going well. I had a minor incident last Saturday at a football game we were hosting. Some kid wanted to get funny and shoved my as I was walking by carrying 6 pizzas. I went down to my knees in some of the worst pain I have felt yet. Spent Sunday lying around with ice and heat all day, bitching because I am off Norco now and all I have is Darvocet, which does absolutely nothing for me. I went to work yesterday and did as little as I could until I went to therapy again.

When I arrived, Jenn, my therapist asked me what I did to myself since I was walking a little crooked. I told her the story and she cringed. I laid face down on the table, lifted my shirt and heard her say "oh my, I've never seen a vertebra stick out that far." She said the joint had rotated a bunch and was poking out. She then proceeded to manipulate it back into place, which hurt to say the least. After an hour of being a contortionist, I felt 75% better.

So here is the low down.
I'm completely off Norco, which is a good thing for my Liver.
I'm on Darvocet, which is a bad thing for my Liver and Pain.
Therapy appears to be having an positive effect, so far.
I hate being in pain all day and night.
I have to be so careful on everything I do, or risk popping my back again.

    Hey Dave,

What a little ! That's ridiculous. I hope you are feeling better and it is great to hear that your therapy is helping.

Dave, I wish you weren't in pain all day and all night. I know how exhausting and debilitating it can be. Any updates from Hamati?

    Thinking of you and Cyndie.

What a little a-hole of a kid. I really hope that he/she regretted what they did when they realized how much it hurt you. Kids can be so mean and just don't think about the consequences of their actions. I am really sorry this happened to you. Can you call your doctor tomorrow and get a script of hydrocodone? I hope that you are soon feeling better.
