I have unfortunately, continued to be aggravated by my right hip. Over the past 5 weeks or so, I have had a series of ESI's and also just diagnostic injections in my right hip joint. Last week, I first went to my hip doc at 7:30 am for him to manipulate my hip, left and went straight to get a diagnostic injection of marcaine, then promptly went back to the doc for him to see how much more readily he could manipulate it after the injection. Then, last week I had an MRI arthrogram of it, which is with the dye. We have both finally agreed that he needs to scope my hip again and see what is causing me so much pain. I don't have the results of the MRI back yet, but he said it is a moot point, as he still knows I have been in pain since he did the labrum repair on it 4 years ago. He has finally allowed that he could possibly have "over-corrected" my problem in surgery. This has really been a long time coming. I NEVER had hip problems until I tore my labrum, and the surgery never alleviated the pain, ever. My back doc has been pushing for a long time, that he strongly believes my continued back pain is being aggravated by this damn right hip. So surgery is scheduled for April 27th...I will have just under a month to get settled in the new home before surgery.Talk about pressure. But, I'm only on crutches for two weeks and immediately start PT, the day after surgery. I pray this scoping will resolve my hip issue and that I can heal properly in time to enjoy spring.

Dear Cindylou,
I will be praying for you to get the hip straightened out. I believe for SURE this is keeping your lower back jacked up. Everything I have read about LBP talks about the role our hips play in the big picture. I am excited about your new house. I am one of those strange people who likes a lot of change. A new house is a clean slate!

Thank you guys, Todd, Justin, K-Bear, and scduggan for the support. Much appreciated. I like the thought of a clean slate with moving too, scduggan. Always better to see the glass half full, than half empty, yeah? I am beginning to stress with this move, because my husband continues to go out of town for business each week, all week, and I am feeling overwhelmed. I cannot complete this packing project by myself. I do some work, then have to sit and ice. The cycle repeats itself. The tens unit helps some, but........ I kinda blasted him last night on the phone and said no more travel till after we are moved! He then allowed he is scheduled to go to New Jersey next week, but just for a few days. grrrrrrrrr. We have this glitch of 6 days in limbo with all our stuff too, as we close on our old place the 25 of March, but don't close on the new place until the 31 of March. Neither party wants to compromise the closings to help us out. The movers told me it will cost 40% more under these circumstances, as they pack differently and load things on pods for those 6 days, so this could cost us thousands more, which I am not prepared for. I am just in a quandry as to what to do.

Aw Cin, I am so sorry I'm late coming to this thread. I feel so bad for you and wish I could come and give you a hand, or at least a big hug. I hate when things are out of my control, as this is for you. It makes me a bit crazy and I have to seriously sit back and try to take a deep breath.
Can you have a friend or relative come over and help for a day or two? Probably not, or you would have done this already...right? I'm not helping at allPlus that is a huge penalty to pay for the gap in possession dates. Why can't everyone just play fair!!!?? It's a big sandbox after all!
Nothing I can do will make it better, unfortunately. Just know that I am thinking of you lots, and sending you positive good wishes for getting through this as soon as possible. Do Tully hugs help?

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
Yes, Tully hugs help immensely! And tomorrow we celebrate her birthday!
It looks like the folks we are buying from are more than willing to bump up the closing a week, to match our other closing, which is AWESOME news.....only glitch is, they have a renter in their other home they are moving into, and a renter, by law, is allowed 30 days notice to vacate premises. If they can get the renter to cooperate we are all systems go. Hopefully, I'll know in a few days, which would be a huge relief and save us thousands $$.
Meanwhile, back to my office to pack and go through millions of papers (sure feels like it), that I have to either shred or file. Ugh! And take pictures of all the furniture we are going to have to sell, post on Craig's list and figure out what to ask.![]()

Ugh! I can't imagine doing the Craig's list thing...it would be ongoing torture right now!
Have you considered having one of those estate buyers come in and take all of the stuff you want to get rid of/sell? While they won't give you the highest price, it would save you so much time and aggravation. Poof, it would be goneHow much is your time and pain worth...that's how I justify something like that.
If the hours of sitting at the computer putting it on line, then being around to field all the responses eats into other things, or just makes the pain worse, I would bite the bullet and take a bit of a loss, but that's just me
When we got married a few years ago and blended house holds, we had a charity come in and take away duplicates of so many things. It felt so good to help someone else, in this case a woman's shelter where they run away from a bad situation and have nothing. We got a good sized tax receipt as well that was just a bonus. Just think of how much less you are going to have to unpack on the other end this way!!
Just a couple of ideas![]()
