Have you done a search? I think I remember this being a topic of discussion a few months ago. Welcome aboard!
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

    Dlhvac.

www.regenexx.com (two x's) is one of the sights. They are in Colorado near Denver. Some of the sights are quacks but this one is run by two or more M.D.'s who were pain managment doctors or orthos. I have no connection with them at all but did talk to one of them about a year ago. I don't know who has had good or bad results.
    Diagnosis:
    Degenerative disc disease throughout spine
Generalized disc bulging with mild narrowing of thecal sac in L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1.
    Moderate spinal stenosis L4-L5
    Foraminal narrowing
    Recent compression Fx at T10,T11.
    Treatment:
    Spinal decompression 2007
Cortisone injection in lower back in 2010
    Relieved of pain for now
    Hope for ADR

Here's a new bit on stem cells. Here in our town, locally, a vet. (animal doc) has given several dogs stem cell injections from stem cells taken from their own fat cells. The stem cells were concentrated and reinected into the dog. The dogs had severe back problems, some with arthritis and were nearly unable to walk. The dogs have recovered and play like young puppies now. Hmm. Too bad they can't seem to get it to work in humans - at least we haven't heard much about it recently.
