    Default Blue Net California

Has anyone had any experience with Blue Shield of California and going out of the country for a M6 install?
I have been approved by my workers comp for a two level cervical replacement at UCSF with the ProDisc. It is good to know I can fall back to UCSF but I would prefer an M6. If I have to pay out of pocket I think I may head that route.

Thanks for your help! Jim Landis

    Jim,

I am stone cold ignorant concerning worker's comp; but I do know that insurance companies care about two things; money and their internal processes. If you can show worker's comp that a foreign double-M6 costs significantly less than a double domestic ProDisc-C (or which ever device you're looking at), you may have a chance at getting approved.

I have two M6-C's and wouldn't trade for them.

    Good luck, Jeff

    Hi Jim,

Worker's Compensation is a whole other animal, as I understand it. There's a lot of red tape involved--I'm sure you are aware of this. We have a couple SPS Members that are Worker's Compensation cases (Gil comes to mind...I'm sure you'll find more information if you do a search in the upper-righthand corner of the website.

    Good luck!
