I was just reading this and thinking about the things that happened in the Senate today and how the insurance industry responded to the possible passage of the health care reform bill by Rep. Baucus (D, Montana).
As some people may know, the health insurance industry rolled out a study that said with the bill's passage, insurance rates would go up. Simply put, most major media outlets said that the study was faulty and didn't consider all the elements of the Baucus bill.
Now, despite indicating something different, the insurance industry is against the Baucus bill. If the bill went through as it is written and was signed into law, the insurance industry would stand to reap the benefit of several million new customers and some of them would be subsidized by the federal government.
IMHO, I don't think the insurance industry really wants change. That's my opinion, others may feel differently. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just want the unwarranted denials to stop.
