I doubt it, but you may check and see if your state has a high risk insurance (which won't be cheap either). My husband and I have an individual policy and pay $1,000 a month in premiums for a family of 4 and that's not even good insurance.

I have settled my wc claim and now have no health insurance. I was wondering if there is any way for me to get health insurance due to pre-existing condition with my back. I had ADR surgery at the L4 - L5 level in my back and it is costing me almost a thousand a month to see doctor and get my meds!

I am sorry that you are finding yourself without insurance and with back problems. I googled "barack obama health reform" and this site came up. I don't know how helpful it will be but you can search for insurance options by state.

Great site Claudia, I'm going to bookmark it. I found this on high risk insurance by state New Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) - Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan | Provisions | Understand the New Law | HealthCare.gov Click on your state and it shows the requirements, premiums and deductibles. It doesn't look near as expensive as I would have thought, looks about equivalent to what I pay on my plan (taking into consideration the individual cost)

Robo,
As i understand it, if you have been denied insurance and have not had any for six months, then you are eligible to purchase insurance through a government exchange. This is part of the new health reform law and people recently became eligible for this.
But check the web sites and good luck.
