Great Article Cathy - I would love to have the PDF - I just joined this forum not sure how to do a PM yet - dont see where that is at just yet - dummy me - if I find it i will send you my addy. As to Run's question here is a suggestion - you may have done this already but in case - have you called to the Prodisc 800 # on their site for helping to get reimbursement? Dunno what state you are in but they can tell u if ANY cases have ever been paid so far in your state by your carrier. That is the 1st place if you have even one then you have a precedent.
As HIPPA laws then come into play - they cant pay for one & deny another the key is if that rep knows of any. I totally get it.

    Best of luck - Jill

Okay, so before I had my surgery I wasn't considering fighting my insurance company, as I thought it was a losing battle. But now that it is over, I have decided that it is worth trying.

But, I am intimidated when it comes to doing something I have no experience with. So, if anyone has a step by step guide on what to do, I'd really appreciate it. Dr. Bertagnoli's site has a list (it does say to call ProDisc), but it is pretty vague and leaves me panicky .

A list of items I need, and/or the steps needed to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to be ordering Laurie Todd's book. But, I see my PM doc (who is the main person I have been seeing for my back) on Monday, and if there are things I should ask her for, I'd like to know before I go.

    Thanks.

    Cathy,

I've posted a lot of Laurie Todd's (The Insurance Warrior) previous newsletters in this forum. We spoke and she gave me permission to post her newsletters in the forum and she was very gracious in donating the material. I still have some newsletters from 2008 and 2009 to post. Her newsletters are packed with information--have a look at them...they cover many topics that should help you (Appeals, where to start, who to contact, etc.).

    Good luck!
