Lumbar Spinal Fusion Versus Anterior Lumbar Disc Replacement: The Financial Implications There is a publication from October 2008 that might help spine patients when they are appealing to their insurance companies. For the full-text article there is a fee, but it might be worth it for those trying to make the case that artificial disc replacement is cheaper than fusion.
