I finally saw the movie; "Sicko" by Michael Moore. Much as I do not like the actor, as I think he is a showboat, I loved the movie. It brought out many of the issues that I am painfully aware of by being in the health care industry. When the other side do not like what is being presented they start getting nasty. They start calling people liberals, (God forbid that anyone have any critical thinking), socialists, leftists, kool-aid drinkers, etc. I love the now GOP supposed plan that is now being touted. Especially after coming off of an 8 year run of power in the white house. If they were interested in doing something more than the status quo they would have. It seems the costs have been allowed to climb due to the drug plan that was allowed to go through during the Bush administration. The plan made sure that the drug companies continued to rake in fortunes with the prescription coverage plan that got pushed through congress. If anything, watch the movie to get a better look at what our policies have done to the health care industry in this country. I love the old movie; "Network." "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."

Good for you. If enough people get mad there may be some grassroots get-up-and-go works to remind the lawmakers that they work for us instead of corporate America.

    FYI,

This video on you-tube.com has nearly 87,000 views. If 9 more people watch it, it will hit 87 K.
The video is especially significant given that Anthem/Blue Cross/Well Point is trying to increase individual premiums by 33-39 percent in CA. The federal government is now looking into the rate increases. So far, this has been found to be more than a one-state practice.
I think comments to this video might enlighten people looking at the comment section about back problems. Some people do not understand back problems. Do you agree?
Help push this video to higher numbers.
We need the patients' health placed back into the doctors hands.
Doctors should be making your health care decisions and not insurance companies.
    Because hopefully doctors care.

    Just a little update.
From a paper in CA: California's Insurance regulator said Monday (2-23) that his office has found more than 700 violations by the state's largest for-profit health insurer, including late payment of claims, giving misleading information to consumers and failing to cooperate with regulators. Anthem Blue Cross faces a maximum $10,000 penalty for each violation. Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner said. His office said the violations occurred from 2006 to 2009...The Los Angeles-based company, a subsidiary of Indianapolis-based WellPoint, has been criticized by Poizner, state and federal lawmakers, and Obama administration officials for proposing rate hikes as high as 39 percent. The company put those increases on hold until May 1. ETC...

This is an AP story that ran in a local paper.
However, BC/Anthem/WellPoint has been increasing rates in other states as well and I am sure there are other stories in other states.

For those of you who have been effected by Anthem, et al's denial of artificial disc replacement or other devices, surgeries, treatments, this is a good time to write letters to your papers, to representatives, to Steve Poizner for those in California and so forth. People are apparently listening now.

BTW, the film views went up over 87K, 87,025 as of last look.

Let's hold the insurance companies accountable.

FYI, there are protests across the nation today. If interested, go to www.moveon.org for info. There is also a virtual march, you don't even need to leave your house.
