My wife and I stayed for a week in Munich after my DSS surgery with Dr. Bertagnoli to recover a bit more before flying home. During our stay, we met a very nice man, Mr. Yüksel Basar, that provided Taxi service for us from our hotel to the Marienplatz one night.
Mr. Basar was not only a very nice man, but his Taxi is actually a 7-Series BMW. If you are not familiar with this car, let me fill you in. The 7-Series is the top-of-the-line sedan that BMW makes. It has an incredibly smooth ride and the back seats are comparable to 1st Class Airline seats (you can practically lay down in them and the lumbar support is great).
The reason I mention Mr. Basar's Taxi service is that his car is an extremely comfortable way to travel within Munich if you feel it is too early for walking longer distances or taking the bus/subway. He drives very well and is "conscious" that there are Spine Patients in his Taxi (not like some of the other local Taxis that we experienced in Munich). There is no additional fee for his car because it is officially registered as a Taxi.
The flat rate for Taxi service from Munich to the Airport is 50 euros. Thus, we also had Mr. Basar take us to the Airport for our departing flight home--it was such a comfortable ride and he was extremely helpful with our bags.
Here is his contact information for anyone staying in Munich for a couple days after their operation:
