Announcement Sending Your Films Overseas for FREE

This is a FREE and easy way to send your films overseas for free:

    For PC Users

If you are somewhat tech savvy, you can also transfer you image CD (MRIs, CTs, X-rays, Discograms, etc.) to us over the Internet. These instructions are for Windows XP. They give the steps on how to compress/zip all the folders and files on your CD into a single zip file and then upload that file to us. If have you another operating system, you can still upload your zipped file in the same way, however you may have to find another method for compressing/zipping the folders and files.
    • Insert MRI/CT/discogram/myelogram CD in computer
    • Using Windows Explorer to highlight all files on your CD
    • To highlight the files left-click the very first file or folder in the right panel, then while holding down the shift key, then left-click the last file or folder in the right panel.
    • Right click on highlighted files and choose Winzip (if you don't have Winzip download a free copy of Izarc at IZArc - The Best Freeware ZIP Utility - RAR 7-ZIP UNZIP UNRAR ENCRYPT ISO BIN click on New IZARC (most current version) at the homepage to download and run the install)
    • Zip to file on your hard drive. This should compress (zip) all the files on your CD or just the DICOM folder (if you have one) to a zip folder on your hard drive.
    • In your browser go to www.sendthisfile.com
    • Sign up for free service
    • After signing up to the service return to www.sendthisfile.com in your browser.
    • Click Send File on the home page and follow the instructions.
    For Mac Users
    • Just open the CD and drag all the contents to your desktop into a new folder.
    • Control-click the folder and then select "Compress"
    • The entire folder of your CD will be turned into a zip file
    • You can follow the instructions above for using www.sendthisfile.com (***I prefer yousendit.com) for FREE

Note: you may have to "right-click" or hit control & click at the same time to select compress / archive / zip the file.

Thanks so much for this. It cost me a fortune to send my MRIs by courier to Stenum. I found out later that I could send them by regular mail also and they would get there almost as fast, just a day or two later. When every penny counts, this is important.

I might have to send my more recent images over again, but my CD drive is not working on my computer right now I'll really have to get it fixed now!
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

It does work. I used it a year and a half ago for someone else.

Hub is a PC tech Geek has to be for a living - while we did this EXACTLY in sending to Dr Fenk-Mayer & she got the dowloads it sometimes does not work using this service - they just could not come thru. It was still worth the try though. We had more than just the MRI though we had also the Xray, and they were compressed but it just could not come thru. The downloads got there but she said they just sometimes dont work. At any rate, we then sent it by Postal Express it only took 3 days - so it all worked out in the end. So nothing ventured nothing gained but if it does not work regular postal worked & she said faster than DHL did in our case.

    Hey Jill,

Thanks for this useful information. You can actually test the link through You Send It to make sure it is working properly after your compressed files are uploaded. I thought this was a nice feature.

It might have been ProSpine's firewall that ultimately blocked the download. Dr. Fenk-Mayer downloaded my Dad's compressed MRI last week through You Send It without any problems.

Just out of curiosity, which website did you use to send your files?
