Gonna see it this week when we leave for the cabin. Our kids loved it. Just said goodbye to our family company this morning.

We did go see "It's Complicated" w/ Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin. Hilarious you guys! You have to see it! And bittersweet. It's a must see.

First thing my youngest daughter and I did when she got home for Christmas (I get a free ticket to take a carer with me!), Apart from it being really long it was brilliant. By the end of the film I had my legs sprawled across her whilst she massaged them so I didn't have to walk around and miss any of it. It was an amazing film. Sci fi is my favourite genre to read and watch but I also enjoy war films so it had everything. Well worth seeing at the cinema for the big screen effect. My eldest went to the IMAX to see it in 3d but I think this would have been far too scary.

It's Complicated looks really funny. We also saw Sherlock Holmes and I thought it was done very well.

I was really excited that I was able to sit through both movies without having to get up.

We watched "District Nine". I had heard good reviews, but I was a little disappointed. I normally like sifi, but the beginning was a little confusing.

I saw Avatar in an IMAX Theater in Minneapolis when we were home for the holidays. You are right Justin when you said it was visually stunning. I saw it in 3D and thought it was excellent. If it does not win several awards I will be amazed.

I saw Sherlock Holmes a couple of days ago. I liked parts of it with the cinemetography but there were many things wrong with Sherlock himself. 221 Baker Street may have been home to a couple of bachelors but Sherlock Holmes was fastidious and he smoked a completely different pipe than what he did in this movie. He also did not wear his signature cape or hat with the double bill. The computer graphics of the London Bridge in the process of being built was stunning. It seemed as though it was filmed in the right period with the darkness and costumes at least. I do like Robert Downey Jr. as an actor but I think he is out of his league as Sherlock Holmes.

I can hardly wait till Avatar comes out in Blue Ray. It will be awhile as they have to milk it for every last thin dime first. BooHoo!

I took myself to a matinee last week and saw Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart. Awesome movie, in my humble opinion. But then I love a good "character study" movie. I haven't checked to see if he got the nomination for Best Actor for the Oscars, but I would be shocked if he didn't. And he did all his own singing too. Very cool.

Yep, just checked....he is up for Best Actor and favored to win.
