Slim gift exchange around our house this Christmas, but not all bad. Actually good. We can focus on what Christmas really means, and on family and loved ones. I have asked the kids to come up with a service idea, so when we draw names, each of us can provide a service to one another as a gift. Like free babysitting if you draw my son's or daughter-in-law's name perhaps, cleaning the garage I hope someone would offer me! ha ha Or just an offer to share a movie together with your brother, Mom, etc., but you pay since it is your gift to the person. I only have to figure out what someone could do for my Mom if they pick her name, cuz she lives in Dallas. Slight snag only. I'll think of something.

CL- I know it's hard for you grandparents to do this; but I really encourage my parents to not buy so much for my kids. They get waay too much stuff from friends and family already, more stuff I have to clean up. Maybe, just one toy. When the girls were little, my parents bought them savings bonds, seeing as how they wouldn't know the difference.

Well, I haven't experienced my first Christmas as a Grandparent yet, but seeing as she'll only be 9 months old, she would likely be more interested in the tissue paper anyway. He he. I like the savings bond idea alot better anyway Kathy. Thanks.
