I second that. Here in Texas we will have 70 & 80's and it will be really nice. Get to go on enjoyable walks, feed the ducks at the pond and sit outside in the evening and let the kids play with the neighbor kids.

Absolutely! Ten times over! I look forward to it all year...the colours, the wonderful temperatures, the crisp smell in the air. I wish it would last for ten more months

Pumpkins, apple pies, putting up preserves and pickles....just love it all.

I love the smell in the air... I like to open all the windows in the house and enjoy the smell. I still remember coming home from school and my mom having the windows open and how good it smelled.

    Default Fall ?

    Do you mean autumn ?

We have been having really lovely Septembers and then autumn comes in really quickly. We live near a golf course (where the local manor house was) and a nature reserve that have loads of huge trees and they are absolutely beautiful when they turn.

I live about an hour's car ride from the Lake District in the UK which is lovely to drive through/walk when the leaves on the trees are turning. It's usually much quieter then mid week at that time of year.

Nuts, Alison, I can't see your picture Are you missing part of the code for posting it? Didn't we have a thread about where we lived? Maybe we should resurrect it, or start another one.

Yes, we mean autumn I love the difference in terms throughout the world. Like having to put in soda instead of pop in a post I did the other day, so the people south of me would understand.

Speaking of which, pictures that is, I'm looking our my studio window and the sun is just coming up and casting a bright beam on the flower bed and elm tree. There are condensation drops on everything. Here's a shot from my garden last year about this time.

Sorry that all three are included in this one. I was hoping to edit it to just show the gorgeous maple trees on my old street in Nova Scotia. The others are of the Bay of Fundy shoreline with morning fog and a lake scene near our place too which isn't so colourful, but I couldn't edit out.

Fall/Autumn has to be my favorite time of the year. The temps during the days are in the 60'sF and down in the 40'sF at night. I live in the city but have a double lot with 14 very large Oak trees. Nothing better then sitting on the back porch, drinking some hot coffee and watching the squirrels gathering the acorns.

Every year, around the middle of September, we drive up to Petosky MI. using the roads that run along Lake Michigan. There are some hills that allow you to see 20 miles of beautiful colored forests. My wife is constantly saying "stop, I want to get a picture of that."

We should all take some pictures when the leaves start turning and post them.
