    Default Back from my holiday,

.. all the planning worked (well I am very tired but pain levels not up too much). We staged the journey over a couple of days, kept my normal routine as much as possible and I did it. Its the longest I have been away from home since 2007 when my ADR starting deteriorating so I am so pleased to have managed it.

Well done! Glad you were able to get away & as CL says experience some "normalcy" without too many pain consequences. Hope your hubby enjoyed his b'day . It's so beautiful in the Scottish isles - you forget when you're living in relative suburbia. Was the weather quite kind to you?

Take it easy & let your energy return.

We have visited alot of places on the east of scotland but never any of the islands or the west side. The travelling was a bit of an ordeal but well worth it. I'm still recovering and hope to be feeling better by the weekend but it was worth it to do something special for our big celebrations.

Alison, the pictures are awesome! My hubby especially liked them, as he has spent a lot of time there. He has talked about the Isle of Skye; it is his favourite spot. I am so glad that you had a chance to explore that beautiful place.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

It was so photogenic, only problem is that I now want a new camera. I took hundreds. When did he spend time exploring, would have asked for travel tips if I'd known!
