    Default Been away!

    My eldest treated me to a belated birthday pressie, a stay in a lovely hotel with my favourite thing - a steam room and jacuzzi. (I find the warm heat really eases my back off.) Had a lovely time going away and feel refreshed. Not too sure when I'll dare to get on the scales as the food was really good!

    Oh heck, any added 'padding' is just a nice reminder of how wonderful your child is, and how great a time you had at the spa

    Congratulations on a terrifically peaceful belated birthday I hope to try that some day. The closest I've come is to soak in some natural hot springs out west in the mountains, one was natural with just boards to hold in the shallow water coming out of the ground (in the middle of winter), and the other was at a fancier resort where the water was flowing into big swimming pools.

    Yours sounds even more heavenly though, and such a great prezzie
    Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
    Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
    Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

    How sweet!
    31 years old- 1/06- In wreck with 18 wheeler at 25 years old; 6/06- Head on collision on Interstate, both wrecks other drivers fault. Numerous MRI's, PT, chiropractic, acupuncture, TENS therapy, massage therapy, facet injections, epidural injections, Nerve study, Discogram, confirms pain in L4/5, IDET, decompression, Bi-lateral neurotomy L3/4/5, denied by insurance twice, in Active L clinical trial, had surgery March 17, 2009 in Miami, FL- received Active L disc at 29 years old. Pain and medication free as of October 2010!Mommy to Emma- 8 years, Ava- 6 years & had baby Eli after ADR, via c-section on March 25, 2011 , completely pain free still!

    Glad you enjoyed your night away! It's nice to have little treats scattered throughout recovery to make it all bearable. You were lucky with the sunny weather.
    1993 Back pain age 29.
    1998-2001 DDD at L1/2. 10 admissions for discography/epidurals/facet injections/disc injections/RFA's.
    2005 ALIF at L1/2 with BMP & good result: pain free
    2007 DDD at L4/5 unresponsive to epidural. Discography: early degeneration, anular tear & bulge. Limited response to core strengthening.
    2009 ADR (activ L) L4/5.
    2012 Myofascial Pain Syndrome T10-L2

    ... but it is lovely to be back in my own bed.

    Am going to investigate local health clubs for occasional treats because it was so relaxing. I'm not up to anyone massaging me yet, everywhere just hurts too much so its difficult to stretch out.

    What a sweet daughter to treat you to such. I am a big fan of steam and the hot tub too. Don't have it at home, but at the place I have p.t. I always sneak in there afterwards. Happy belated birthday Alison!

    • April 27, 2010 2nd right hip arthroscopy to remove adhesions and release psoas muscle

    • December 9, 2010 12 bilateral lumbar trigger point and steroid injections
    • December 23, 2010 12 more bilateral trigger point injections w/o steroid
    • February 15, 2011 ESI bilaterally in lower lumbar...relief only for few days. Considering 1 more.
