    Default "Blizzard" Conditions here!

Hi everyone! We're getting a significant dumping of the fun, white stuff in Minneapolis as we speak! Our storm totals are supposed to be somewhere in the 15-16 inches by midnight tonight. Whoo-hoo! Christmas shopping plans downtown with my daughter-in-law got put on hold today; a Holiday party we were supposed to attend tonight already started the phone calls, moving it to tomorrow afternoon. I call this "forced downtime!" Love it. I tried to take a picture of the snow coming through the screens onto our back porch, but it's not the best quality. Drat it. The "attachments" section isn't letting me bring up the picture to post it. I'll try again in a little bit. Merry, merry! Ho, ho, ho! I love the snow! Cindylou

CL- I upload my pictures to photobucket, then copy the IMG code to here and paste it. I never was successful uploading directly onto the site. I like that way too, so if you ever want to remove a picture and don't remember where it's posted, just remove it from photobucket and it's gone.

My kids are asking when it's going to snow.... I told them I would cry if it was snowing already, lol. We had our record snows last year, 3 or 4 times and several inches, which for TX is unusual. I don't think the kids quite understand that in Tx we are lucky to get snow once a year. I can't even fathom that much snow, that is just crazy.

Snow totals right at this moment in our area are 17.2 inches. And it's still snowing hard! Our "blizzard conditions" just got extended from midnight tonight until 6 am tomorrow, with Minneapolis officially declared a "Snow Emergency" and we are "supposed to expect" another 4-5 inches tonight! It's crazy snowing up here! Love it, love it, love it. When we get the official "Snow Emergency" declaration it also means, in terms of parking, that all vehicles have to be off the streets where the official red signs declaring "Snow Emergency" are posted, and only parked either in private garages/driveways or the like.......otherwise, they will be subject to towing by the police to the county pound, and they mean it. They live off the profits of all those towed vehicles! The 2nd day of a snow emergency everyone has to park on the "odd" side of the street till 6 or 9 am, then 3rd and final day you park on "even" side of the street, and then, voila', emergency status is complete, streets are all plowed, that is until........the next snowfall. lol Now you know more than you ever cared to know about the subject, but think how well prepared you'll be in the event you ever move to Minnesoooooota. haha! Never knew that about plowing.... guess that makes sense that they need the cars off the road or on one side of the road. My step brother is in Driggs, Idaho, across the mountain from Gil in Jacksonhole and he says you all have two seasons, Winter and road construction (from winter damage). That amount of snow is just unreal to me, I can't imagine. You definitely have to take some pictures for me. I've been complaining because it's been in the 40's and 50's here, and I'm cold. Usually I'm burning up when pregnant, but this time I have been freezing, even when it was hotter than hades outside.
