they see what professional athletes and others, like in Dancing with the Stars, do to their backs?

Every time someone takes a big body slam or does repeated weird contortions with their backs, I want to scream....you don't know how sorry you are going to be in a few years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are going to be surfing the net to try and find relief from that inevitable back pain you are setting yourselves up for

Or am I just a worry wart, an old granny like my kids always say?

Seems like I'm the main one who posts fluff on here too! Oh well, we all need a smile or a conversation to take our minds off our worries

My hubby did a daft can-can dance to a song on the radio this morning and got shouted at for the danger to his back. I'm always telling people to bend at their knees, though to their credit I am the go to person for friends for back care advice.

I definitely do. I'm constantly nagging on how to lift and don't lift that if it's too hard for you. My daughter likes to watch the TV show Wipeout and OMGosh it looks painful. All I'm thinking is that $50,000 prize isn't going to put a dent in your spine expenses when your messed up!

My kids like to watch Wipeout too. That show is an orthopedic nightmare. I hurt just watching it.

I used to love to run (too painful now) but when I see someone running my first thought is,

"Ooooooh that looks like so much fun!"

    My next thought is,

"Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch"

i'm the worst critic of mechanics in anything.... i also see the end result of ANY injury at work, so it's like my own problems 10x over!

i'm also the most vocal person i know saying Peyton Manning would be INSANE to return to pro football after a cervical fusion... but some do it, their competitive drive is that revved up. i say they didn't lose enough to start with.... i have lost so much of my youth, my profession, money.... that i will probably be a wimp forever. but a wimp not in pain!!!!

and even though my bad disc is gone, i still find myself cringing when i go over a bump in the car - even though it doesn't hurt anymore! i guess that'll go away w/ time....

I definitely cringe! My own mother who has need a double hip replacement for almost five years got screamed at a couple months ago when she thought it was necessary to do a handstand. I am not even sure how she was able to do it. I walked in the room and my sister was laughing at her. Needless to say, I wasn't laughing. AT ALL.
