    Thanks Kathy.

My pity party is levelling out. Keep trying to do more but keep having muscle flare ups/spasms & I'm not sleeping for more than 2-3 hours/night so am really tired. I've been waiting for my specialist to call to discuss my MRI results & have left messages for him but had no word so have made an appointment to see him on 1st June. Personally I think my MRI will be OK so I hope we can discuss/arrange some RFA's as the facet injections made my back a lot calmer for 2 weeks. The complication rate for RFA's seems to be very low so am feeling more comfortable about it. Roll on the 1st June!

Ruth, I'm glad to hear your pity party is tapering off sweetie. Very good news. Say, with all your sleep difficulty, have you ever considered asking your doctor to put you on a prescription for a sleep aid, like Ambien? From time to time, when my sleep cycle is disrupted for weeks on end, I will go back on Ambien for about a 2 week, sometimes 3 week period to get my sleep cycle back on track, and then when I stop the Ambien, I continue to sleep very soundly. I have never ever had any addiction issues with Ambien. Poor sleep will also contribute to higher pain cycles so I would really try and get on top of that and nip it in the bud, if I were you. A healthy night's sleep is imperative. Here's to June 1st and your appointment! I'll be anxious to hear what your doc has to say. xoxo, Cindylou

Jeez... you have right to be bummed out. I had some pretty bad back pain for a while and was so mad and upset about it. It angered me to have any sort of disability, especially after being a pretty good quarterback for many years. Even golfing became difficult! I just got my surgery done though, and feel great. My problems sound like nothing compared to yours, and I feel bad now for even complaining. I trusted in God, and he got me through. Prayers going out to you!

Cog Praying that the ablations work!

I'm going ahead with the facet ablations & am just waiting to hear about a date. I'm praying that I get a good response to them so that I can improve my activity level at a faster rate than I am at the moment. Currently, I can increase my walking about 70 steps/week but I'm not able to do that every week - it depends on what I've been doing.

When I had ablations done 10 years ago for another disc problem I had a good result & I think I deserve a bit of good luck so am trying to stay positive. I'd be thrilled & the happiest person on the planet if only I could get going & be more active without my muscles being so angry & inflammed.
