Fishing at the cabin I caught anice size large mouth bass in the weeds last night. I have a super light rod so it was a blast reeling 'em in! But we must have been in beaver territory, cuz all of a sudden there was a huge splash right by the boat, and it scared the
out of us!
We retreated and found another fishing hole!

Thx Justin. Boy, the fish were biting today.being up late by myself, as my husband already went to bed, and I've got a big fat racoon making alot of racket out on the deck. He's going after the birdseed in the feeders, dining rather well on black sunflower seeds, I might add. I've chased him off
half a dozen times but he's a persistent fella.
Oh well, I guess he needs to eat
too.

Awesome. The thrill of fishing on inland lakes in the mid-west is great. We have a cabin on Big Star Lake in Baldwin, MI, so I can relate first hand. Not many things better than catching Bluegills during the day and feasting on them in the evening.

I know. I love to fish. I grew up fishing with my Dad and siblings at my Grandma's lake home in Detroit Lakes Minnesota. My Dad's been gone for over 20 years now, but whenever I am out fishing I feel close to him. Yesterday was my best day yet. I caught a kazillion fish!Well, maybe not a kazillion, but I stopped counting after 17. I caught another northern, several crappies, a bunch of bluegills, a bunch of large mouth bass, and a whole handful of sunnies. What a blast.
My poor hubby was not having quite the luck as me. But he told me he had fun watching me reel them in. What a guy. We released all of them Gil. Didn't eat any. My husband is a huge catch and release guy, but pretty soon I am going to start keeping some of them and clean and fry 'em. When my son and his wife and baby come up in a few weeks, Christy really wants to keep them and eat them, so we definitely will.
One thing I was keenly aware of out on the boat was how well I was doing too with pain levels. I bet we were out 5 hours, and I spent a good bit of that time standing. I'm cutting back on the Vicodin too, so I probably had 2 yesterday. I have been taking a good amount of anti-inflammatories, which is really helping me more than the Vicodin anyway. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it felt good to feel so good. Todd, I will definitely download some of my pictures to share. Thanks for asking to see some. I am a huge picture person too.
