So this is actually a commercial that Toyota made promoting their Toyota Sienna Van. It cracks me up everytime I see it
. I posted this here several days ago but that was when we saw the new version of the site and once we flipped back to the old version the posts went away with it
(there on 2 separate servers but hopefully Justin can merge them when its all done)
So here it is again for anyone who didnt get to see it before (I also have it posted in Carmen's surgery thread because I figured she could use a good laugh just like the rest of us)
Here's a link if the video in the post doesnt work. YouTube - HQ ~ MINIVAN RAP ~ SWAGGER WAGON

Funny, it actually made me want one for my little swagger family! Loved it. I had a friend who sent me funny clips every day after my surgery and it made such a difference to me. A very thoughtful thing to do and laughter does heal!
:
YEAH!!!
I am so glad you found that funny. I had a couple people watch it and tell me, "Whats su funny about that?" I told if you didn't find it funny thats OK. Because I found it even funnier that they had no sense of humor and didn't find it funny.....poor guys!
And you are right, "Laughter is the best medicine"
Well unless you are only a few days post-op with an anterior surgery. Laughing wasn't too good then as it made the stomach hurt. I couldn't believe that almost everything you do requires some form of use of the stomach muscles.....and lord have mercy on me if I had to cough. It went, cough then not even a split second later, blood curdling scream at the top of my lungs
.....good thing that part is over.
I know! I got a cold three days post op and was not in a very good mood as I couldn't stop coughing. The coughing, ouchbut the sneezing holy mother
Anyway it still didn't compare to the pain I had pre-op so it all felt much better as I knew it was a mending pain. That I could deal with, the constant crippling pain before almost took my soul from me, but soul is back in my body and I am semi-normal again. I'll never be normal, but would never want to be![]()
I am so happy for you....about feeling better, not the "would rather die" cough's and sneezes. I found the only thing that would help (and when I say help I mean it would make it the eensy-weensy tiniest bit not as bad) was to hold a pillow on my stomach with as muc pressure as I could stand and then to cough. It wasn't much but you know how it feels and any bit of help is a MUST!
Pain can definitely suck the life right out of you. Thats where I was going into surgery. If I could have waited until January I could have used short term disability to recover as long as I needed it with 100% of my salary covered by it....but with soul-sucking disabling pain, there was no waiting 6 more months, just couldn't do it! Our company was just bought by another and their benefits kick @$$ but were not switching until next yearMy current short term disability would only pay you 60% of my salary so needless to say, I am using PTO time for a couple weeks and then working from home until I am comfortable enough to go back to work. But it just would have been so nice to take the time off and actually rest, not use my vacation time and 2 weeks later start working from home.
Although working from home is kind of nice(I would be doing emails, phone calls, computer work) because I clock in and out when I want, wear whatever I want to ....OR DONT WANT
but I know I can only use up this asset for so long. Glad to hear your doing better....keep up the good wok!

This was really funny! I am sooooo glad I'm past this point in my life where I have to tote little kids around in a big car! Now my youngest is a senior in H.S and my oldest is getting married this Aug!! I am hoping to get another injection so I am able to walk at her wedding! I wish I could dance! Dr. said that he couldn't do any discotomy (or what ever it's called) and have me be able to travel from AK to WI and be ready for the wedding so here I sit waiting for the other surgeon to get back from vacation to find out why he wrote in my record "no more injections".
