Oh, and I'm just the opposite Kathy! After having lived in Texas for 28 years, I much prefer the cold to the heat. Mind you, I love my Minnesota summers, but now that we are having high 90's in June....not so much! These are August temperatures! I would love to be around in oh, another 20 years or so, when you hit menopause, and see how much you love the heat! It was during this phase of life that my husband's company moved us to Minnesota 10 years ago. You couldn't get me out of that heat fast enough!

    Kathy,

Very lovely family you have there. Take cars of those two little treasures.

As far as women and there hair, after being married for 23 years to my lovely wife, I've learned to say "yes honey, it looks great on you" no matter what she does to it. Better safe than in the doghouse.

I am most content with the happy medium, just under 70 and low humidity. Even light drizzle ( I like to call it mizzle...mist+drizzle) is better than a bright, really hot day.

We have high heat and humidity, which is the worst of all. Drop the humidity at least, please!

Oh well, I have to admit that I was much more miserable with -45 to -50 for a month at a time, which I endured for the middle twenty years of my life

Just where in the heck do they have perfect climate? Hawaii? I do love the four seasons though, in moderation.

Kathy, do you have that horrid humidity to go with those temperatures? Our humidex (is that the right term for heat plus humidity?) goes up well over 100 many days between June and September.

And yes, you have to come up before I go to those sweet little girls' college graduation
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Yes, it is very humid here, our heat index will rund 110+ some days. If I had to work outside in this heat, I would be singing a different tune! I don't know how hubby does it (& he likes it). We do have crazy electric bills in the summer as we both like it 72 or below in the house, 67 or 68 at night. When I was pregnant with Emma, the last month, our electric bill was $550 for a 1,500 sq ft house! Now, we are in 3,000 sq ft; but have lots of energy saving things in place and it usually doesn't go over $500 a month (and that includes water, which hubby uses a ton of on his lawn & flowers... heaven forbid that grass isn't green.) We also have a neighborhood pool we can use to cool off and it's great entertainment for the kids. Oh, and I am within 20 minutes of 3 lakes.
