    Default Got a new do!

I am so excited, my sweet friend who has been so wonderful to me already, and is having a hysterectomy tomorrow, came over this weekend and cut and colored my hair. She is a stay at home mom; but was a hairstylist before that and she still maintains her license. She did this for absolutely free! That saved me $150, that I didn't have to start with. So, I gotta share my pictures. I went from below the shoulder legnth to chin legnth. My roots were horrid, as my hair is brown and will highlight in the sun, so they didn't match my last color. I'm sure this thrills you guys, who just don't get the women and the hair thing... at least my hubby doesn't. Ok, so here it is:

And here's one of the whole family, we were at the in-laws and did tons of pictures, kids were a bit restless, as you can tell in this picture

Tell your hubby he has cute cheeks (and very red ones), and he can come work on my gardens with Terry anytime

You, my dear look terrific! I think all those stories about you feeling awful are just attention getters....you look too good to be miserable (said with tongue in cheek, and remembering Mary's pain letter where people say impossible things to us when we are having a good day )

Oh my, I think I really do need to adopt these gorgeous little girls as my granddaughters. I can just see reading them stories and spoiling them rotten. They are adorable...they came from good stock
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Justin, Cathy, CL & Katie, thank you, you are too sweet.

Katie- Hubby has his momma's cheeks and eyes. If you see him close up, his eyes look like he has on eyeliner, they are gorgeous. I hope my girls get those.

You bring up a good point, we do look just fine, so it's hard for others to understand that we are hurting. Unlike other diseases, where the person appears sick, we look normal. I think this is one of the big reasons it is hard for others to understand that we don't feel well.

I actually did my hair and wore make up that day, which is rare. I'm a bit more 'fluffy' than I would like, but I will eventually, lose those surgery pounds. Too bad we can't just go get a makeover and that would make us better! Wouldn't that be nice?

I'll throw the kids on a plane to come see you. Emma, the oldest, is a social butterfly and would be just fine with that. We always joke, that we could knock on a random strangers door and she would be fine to go in and spend the night. Ava, on the other hand, thinks everyone but me is a stranger. One day, I really am going to come see you. I have never been to Canada and would love to come. It looks like a beautiful country. One day.....

My hubby likes to refer to himself as a true 'redneck'. He uses sunblock; but his coloring just stays red. It's really weird, all his workers, tan, not him. It looks like my older daughter, Emma, got the same skin type, she gets red easy. My younger daughter, Ava, tans, never burns. A couple of weeks ago the girls were outside for a few hours and when they came in, I realized Emma was burning. I told them that they had to stay in, because Emma was getting burned. She asked, "momma, how come Ava doesn't get burned?" I then had to try and explain different skin types and that they are genetic and the luck of the draw. I ended with 'that's how God made you' (aka. mom's out of explanations)

It was 104 yesterday and 102 today. We are supposed to have 100+ degree weather for the next 5+ days. I am not crazy about the 95+ degree heat; but prefer it over the cold. I can't stand being cold, will take the heat and a swimming pool any day of the week!
