Ok, now that you've been warned, your either reading this out of morbid curiousity or genuine concern. I generally do not get embarassed, and this is a bit embarassing.
So, earlier today hubby and I were getting our groove on and I think I hurt my back in the process. Let's just say, I was arching my back behind me, more than one would normally arch and I think I just arched a bit too much. Ever since, I have been having more pain and kinda a burning pain, right where my adr is.
I was supposed to be seeing my surgeon on Monday; but changed it to Wednesday, because the study coordinator wanted it to be within the 'window' for my study dates. This way, the study will pay for my visit, all my x-rays and etc. for that date. Needless to say, I agreed, as I have enough medical bills already, so I'll take a visit on the house any day of the week! Now, I'm kinda wishing I would have kept the Monday appointment, because I'm freaking out and thinking I did something horrible to myself.
Good news is... If something really got screwed up, hubby has major bragging rights with the guys!

Hey Kathy,
I don't think anything "bad" happened to your artificial disc. Your flexibility has most likely decreased since your surgery, and, if you haven't stretched your spine that way for some time, it could be painful. You may be sore for a couple days because your spine was invited to the party and didn't know.

Hey Kathy, well we're the night owls tonight, typing this at 1:37 am. You know, I would say I am glad you have your appt. on Wednesday, absolutely, for a check up and x-rays. Do I think you messed up your spine? I really don't think so. You likely jarred it in that arch of your back and that's your tender area from surgery. Having said that, you certainly need piece of mind, so it is fortuitous that you do have that appointment, albeit on Wednesday now. What were you thinking? Hey, let's have wild and crazy sex tonight because I'm gonna have x-rays next week anyway!?!I would alternate the heat and ice big time, and really lay low. Like you can lay any lower, right? Hope it feels better by the weekend.

Oh, thank you all for the reassurance. I'm feeling much better this morning. I was up to 2:30am last night, waiting for the pain meds to kick in. Finally got to sleep and slept really well. Pain this morning seems to be back at my 'normal' level.

Ooh sorry to hear about your incident. You already seem to have been given good advice. If it persists you could try an anti-inflammatory if you're happy taking them. Hope everything is OK on Wednesday. When I accidentally roll over too quickly on my exercise mat & end up arching my spine I get a sharp pain round my operation site but I think it's cos things are still healing & quite tight round there.
Take care!
P.S. You must have been posting a similar time to me. Glad things have calmed down.

1993 Back pain age 29.
1998-2001 DDD at L1/2. 10 admissions for discography/epidurals/facet injections/disc injections/RFA's.
2005 ALIF at L1/2 with BMP & good result: pain free
2007 DDD at L4/5 unresponsive to epidural. Discography: early degeneration, anular tear & bulge. Limited response to core strengthening.
2009 ADR (activ L) L4/5.
2012 Myofascial Pain Syndrome T10-L2
That activity is different for us now too. We here a light "clicking" noise sometimes. There's no pain or discomfort but it can be distracting. I came up with a great solution. I put an Eric Clapton CD in the player and we try to keep time with the songs. It sounds like an extra percussionist is playing along.
I doubt if I'm in good enough shape for Santana yet..........
I hope your pain subsides Kathy. You'll be in my prayers.
