    Default Happy Day!!!

I am so happy right now!! It's been close to 4 years since my 2nd car accident, with the 2nd moron who couldn't drive. At the 2 year mark, my attorney filed a lawsuit against them (if you don't do it at the 2 year mark, you lose your right to do so); b/c negotiations had failed. Both sides have repeatedly pushed back mediation and such, for various reasons. I had it done b/c of surgery and I didn't feel I could make a decision without knowing my long term results. Well, we were supposed to have mediation last week and my attorney cancelled, b/c he felt that they were going to just beat us down and weren't going to make a serious offer. They had apparently hired an "expert" who said my injuries were not from this wreck.... which is crap. Anyhow, I think that when my attorney cancelled, they realized we were serious and this was headed for a jury (that was scheduled for March 2nd). The next day they made an offer.... $150,000. My medical bills are around 85-90K, so I felt this was fair and probably better or the same as what I could get out of a jury (I live in a very conservative area, so juries don't award much). We accepted and now it's waiting for my attorney to negotiate with my insurance company a settlement (I'm guessing that they are probably owed 30-40K). The attorney gets 40%, which is 60K plus fees, which is probably 3-5K. Hubby and I have about 20K out of pocket, so hoping that when it's all said and done we end up at least breaking even. I'm so ready to be done with this. Anyhow, it will be nice to have all my providers and bills paid off.

Oh, I already told him I getting to go to Canada.... with or without him, my back led me to 'meet' you all and so my suffering is going to pay for me to actually meet you all! I also told him I am getting my tile in my house. We seriously have hardi-board on all of our upstairs floors. We were supposed to tile in Winter 08, put the hardi-board down, and then we found out about ADR and used the money on that. He wants a John Deere Gator and a John Deere Z-Trac 60" mower... both for his business, which just picked up a huge new property, so he needs more equipment (gave us a 55K a year raise!). Life is good, for the time being! Can't wait to come to Canada.

Thank You All! I am so sick of struggling to make ends meet and struggling with back problems. Life is finally looking up and will hopefully stay that way for awhile!
