Thanks so very much. It was a wonderful day....I got to babysit my beautiful granddaughter for my equally great oldest daughter. Unfortunately their whole family was down with a very nasty flu bug and they couldn't look after the baby.

I got a call early Sunday morning, asking for help, so off I went and spent the night. Despite how sick Caitlyn was, she managed to stay in good spirits. Unfortunately it caught up to me yesterday after I came home and I spent the night in the hospital getting rehydrated & medicated myself. Worth every minute though I didn't know a bug could hit so fast though.

I hope all the ladies in everyone's lives had a great day.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

I now have my daughter and son-in-law and their 3 kids living in the same town. They put on a nice Mother's Day dinner for me. Its so nice to have them close since they have been a long ways away for a number of years; four years in China. The China time was worth it since we visited there 3 times and they adopted their youngest, Mei Li now Maylee while they were there. One of our sons is fairly closeby, the other 2000 miles away.
    Diagnosis:
    Degenerative disc disease throughout spine
Generalized disc bulging with mild narrowing of thecal sac in L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1.
    Moderate spinal stenosis L4-L5
    Foraminal narrowing
    Recent compression Fx at T10,T11.
    Treatment:
    Spinal decompression 2007
Cortisone injection in lower back in 2010
    Relieved of pain for now
    Hope for ADR

We have so much to be thankful for. Both of my daughters have lived far from me like you KanRunMo. It is such a treat to not only have one back nearby, but to have a grandbaby to spoil too My youngest one travels the world with her job and I only see her every few years. Thank heavens for the internet and calling cards, but even those messages are few and far between because of cost.

But the bonus is that she will soon be settling down in Italy...there are worse places to have to visit, although it will take some serious budgeting

Some of my best memories are of breakfasts in bed, with one or both making waffles, juice and sometimes perfect coffee, even when they were just nine or so.
