Wink Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canucks!

Just wanted to pass on best wishes to all of those out there that are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend

We celebrated with our best friends and their two daughters, to whom we are honorary aunt and uncle Plus my oldest daughter, husband and new baby were here too. It was Caitlyn's six month birthday, and she celebrated by starting to eat sweet potatoes. The same weekend a year ago, her mom announced that she was expecting. It's been quite the year, with lots to celebrate, including a new back

Here's to an even better year ahead, and to remembering all the good things we are thankful for.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Yes, the family is lucky that it didn't fall earlier in the year, before I had a chance to recover! I still feel like I need to rest after yesterday's get together

Yes Katie, I know how you feel. The day my son was driving home from The Gunflint Trail a week ago, I wanted to cook him a nice homemade meal. I haven't "stood" at the stove like that since last Thanksgiving. By the time he pulled up to the house I was so hobbled from too much "standing" that I had to use my cane to make it to the door. It took me 2 days of complete inactivity to recover. Crazy, huh? Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! CL
