Crossing my fingers the hurricane misses you all. When hurricane Ike hit a few years back, hubby and I were on a cruise. Not only did the hurricane mess up our destination (Cozumel) instead we ended up somewhere in North Mexico and it was nasty water (couldn't have paid me to get in). Then that couldn't bring the ship back in for a few days, so a 4 day trip turned into 7 (which isn't good when you have others watching your children back home). We had left out of Galveston, but since it was destroyed we got dropped off in New Orleans and told 'good luck getting home'. Nice. Luckily I have the best brother in law ever and he drove all night to be there in time for the ships arrival and then drove us back to Texas. I didn't go back to Galveston until a year later, hubby went back to get video of our vehicle, so insurance could pay us; but was amazed at the damage even a year later. We have tornadoes here, but the damage is nothing like hurricane damage (though you don't get much if any warning with them).
