Good advice Justin. Even as far inland and north as we are, we may feel the effects here as well. Not hurricane force winds of course unless it changes its track significantly, but lots of rain and a big blow nonetheless. We lived through Juan in the early part of the decade when living on the east coast, and were without power for over a week. Some had to suffer through for a month, and there were lots of houses without roofs. The scarey thing was that you couldn't tell where some of the roofs in the middle of the roads came from
Dairy farmers can be especially hard hit. If their generators fail or they do not have ones that can handle the load, they are faced with milking up to a 100+ cows by hand, or they will get extremely sick.
I pray that there is no loss of life with this one. Even though the loss of material things can be devastating, most can be replaced. The thought of NYC shutting down (subways, etc) is almost surreal.
