    Announcement Hurricane Irene

I do hope everyone on the East Coast is taking the warnings seriously regarding Hurricane Irene. Take time to check on your elderly neighbors and assist those that might need help. It's going to be a devastating weekend.

    Please stay safe everyone.

Good advice Justin. Even as far inland and north as we are, we may feel the effects here as well. Not hurricane force winds of course unless it changes its track significantly, but lots of rain and a big blow nonetheless. We lived through Juan in the early part of the decade when living on the east coast, and were without power for over a week. Some had to suffer through for a month, and there were lots of houses without roofs. The scarey thing was that you couldn't tell where some of the roofs in the middle of the roads came from

Dairy farmers can be especially hard hit. If their generators fail or they do not have ones that can handle the load, they are faced with milking up to a 100+ cows by hand, or they will get extremely sick.

I pray that there is no loss of life with this one. Even though the loss of material things can be devastating, most can be replaced. The thought of NYC shutting down (subways, etc) is almost surreal.

Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Hope all of you in the hurricane's path are okay. Batten down the hatches. I saw what Katrina did to Mississippi and Alabama, first-hand, and it was unbelievable. I will pray everyone is safe and dry.

Irene has come and gone from the DC area. Lots are without power. My neighborhood was barely touched. Power wobbled off and on for a good part of last night and once this evening. In walking around the neighborhood this morning after it stopped raining, saw lots of large tree limbs down. There was even one complete tree uprooted and another large tree sheared in two. Thankful that they fell on grassy areas, not people or houses. About half a million in the area without power. It'll be days before it's all back up and running. All in all, it could have been worse.
1976 - Fell from tree. The beginning!
1985 - Car accident - pull back muscle.
1985 - Spring 2010 -Flare ups off and on. Meds manage - Life goes on.
9/2010 -Pain returns, Diag DDD of the L4/5 & L5/S1 space with arthritis. .
10/ 2010 - Referral to PM Doctor & PT. PT not helpful. MRI confirms DDD, bulging disc of L4/5space. Pneumonia. Pain off charts!
    11/2010 - 3/ 2011 2 RSNB/2 ESI. Relief short lived . Referred to surgeon.
6/29/11 -TLIF Fusion of L4/5 space.
