Day 9 of owning it. I just got back from the Apple store, they take it, plug it in to a charger and the dang thing powered up and is working perfectly. Isn't that how it works, once you get there, the device works perfect and you look like a moron. They checked the water damage indicators and they showed no damage! They did see a little corrosion (probably from the condensation). I asked about if Apple Care covered it and they said yes, any damage that is not covered under the plan (excluding lost/stolen phones) that they would sell me a new phone for the contract price of $199 (not cheap, but better than paying $600 to buy it out of contract). I would highly suggest getting the Apple Care on your new Iphone, there are other perks to it to, like 1 free battery replacement, technical support for 2 years.

I'm so glad you didn't have to buy a new phone. Putting it in the rice to let it soak up the moisture saved the phone. I'm so happy you know that trick. When a phone gets wet usually the way it gets ruined is someone trying to turn it on right away which shorts out the circuits and phone goes bye-bye for good. It probably didn't turn on for you but for the apple store because it needed some more drying out and seems like the time it took you to get there was all it needed....HOORAY!

I still cant believe you guys saved the phone....way to go with the rice!

Greg- my dad and brothers are electronics gurus (nerds), so I know your basic fixes.
