I have about 90% of the leaves from my 14 oak trees cleaned up. It usually snows before they all fall off.

Since I rested up yesterday, I was able to food shop (with help from my son) today and then spent some time cooking. It was so great to be able to stand and cook! I probably overdid it a little, but it felt so great to get back to something I love to do! Plus it was beautiful today and I got to ride with the top down!

I'm getting to be more and more of the mommy I know I am back. I hosted 7- 7th graders, 1- 4th grader, 2- 1st graders and 2- preschoolers at my house yesterday (by myself!) We had a blast, I love being the house that all the neighborhood kids want to come to. We then had 3 girls (13, 9 & 7 years) sleep over last night. We all got up and went to church this morning and I was able to sit through the entire service pain free!

I am off the Fentanyl patch, (not because of pain relief, but because it wasn't working)....but at least I am off it, so that is a victory. And, cross my fingers, no withdrawal issues yet, so that is awesome news! I am eagerly setting up appointments in my search to find a new primary care doctor, so that feels good....am getting closer to my goal on that.

Just booked myself a train ticket to go and see my baby girl next weekend. She's probably the only person who'll cheer me up. (sorry hubbie!)

I went to the hairdressers yesterday to have my hair coloured - it felt good to get rid of those grey strands. Also, I can leave it 'till September 2010 before I resume my degree in exercise, nutrition & health. My post op fitness should be pretty good by then. It means I'll have had 2 years out & my brain will have completely gone to sleep but it's nice to be able to keep my options open.

Alison - Hope your trip to see your daughter goes OK (spine-wise).

My husband and kids got approved, with no pre-existing conditions, for our new health insurance, that is much cheaper than our previous carrier, and better insurance!
