Default Lord Stanley's Cup in Grand Haven, MI

This is kind of cool. Dan Bylsma, the Pittsburg head coach, is a native of Grand Haven so he showed up in town with the Stanley Cup. I did not personally get to see him or the cup but know several people who did.

Here is the news clip and video from our newspaper.

I'm actually a Redwings fan, but hey, he is a local boy.

He he, we got to watch the team captain, Sidney Crosby, bring home the cup to our old home town on the news a week or two ago, and celebrate his 22nd birthday at the same time!

He went to high school just around the corner from us and by all accounts is the nicest kid going, sort of like another Wayne Gretzky. He spent several hours at the children's hospital with the Cup. Although I'm not a big hockey fan in general, I love watching this sort of thing.

Our local team, the Senators, came soooo close a couple of years ago, but haven't come close since. They have to get rid of some dead weight soon that is dragging them down, by the name of Heatley. I've never lived in a place where there is an NHL team before. The fans are crazy!
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
