    Default No computer

I am w/o a computer for a few days, FYI, so am not posting hardly at all, because I type on my IPhone slower than molasses. My MacBook fell off the bedside table at the hotel in Madison, and consequently broke the screen. my hubby reminded me there was probably concrete right underneath the hotel carpet. I should be up and running in the next couple of days. CL.

I was wondering where you were. That's no good on the computer, hopefully it's a warranty fix or not to expensive. Talk soon,

Unfortunately, no warranty. Bummer. The cost of repairing the damage was over half what a new one would be, with no warranty for parts, so after weighing all of that, I opted to get a new one, same size, and purchased the 3 year warranty. I'm not big on warranties, but with my track record recently, think IPhone, decided it was a good idea! But they still have it to transfer all my data.

Ughhh, no fun. I know they charge a fortune for a warranty on these. I bought the 1 or 2 year water damage, drop, etc. warranty. Basically, if it's my fault it will be fixed, now if a part just quits I'm out of luck.

I sympathise with you. A while back my laptop fell off my bed & had to be sent away to be fixed - I was lost without it. I did have a desktop but I wasn't up to sitting at it for long before my back needed a rest. It was away for about a month & I gained a whole new respect for it. I've never had a laptop before so would definitely consider a warranty next time I buy one.

Hope you get online properly real soon!

aww, missing you. We have two desktops, two laptops, one netbook, one ipod and a smartfone so being offline only happens when the ISP messes up.

Hope your birthday was fun. x

    Alison,

You have quite an arsenal of computers!

The hard drive on my desk top crashed several weeks ago and I've been using my wife's laptop. It's okay but I have no way to retrieve all of the reseach articles and notes I compiled over the last several years.

Good luck CL. I hope you get up and running (both your computer and spine issues) soon.
