Default Ok, so the critters are hard at work storing food for the winter.

Stocking up for old man winter, I can see the little critters through my window up here at the cabin, doing just that. Looks so sweet and innocent until I begin hearing a rattling sound one night through the wall in the den. Clank, clank, clank. What in the world is that? Later, as I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth, I open the bottom sink cabinet and what rolls out onto the floor but an acorn. Seems whoever this critter is, he jammed the acorn through the bathroom piping to store it, and out it rattled onto the bathroom floor. Gave me a chuckle. Then, I absentmindedly wander to the bedroom and open my pj drawer, only to hear alot of rattling! I scream. I peek into the drawer to see a stash of teeny tiny nuts, about the size of BB's all scattered in the drawer. Then in another corner are 2 peanuts! Ok, now I'm getting jumpy! I don't think a mouse can carry a peanut, can it??? There are a few things about cabin life I could do without.

CL, what a great post to read on a chilly Sunday morning in Philly.

I went out back to let our dog out this morning, and I was shocked that the cement patio was actually cold on my feet. I'm hoping we will get a few more weeks of beautiful weather before Old Man Winter takes over.

Yesterday, we were doing some sightseeing with friends from out of town and we were watching the squirrels hard at work in many of the city parks. We have ninja squirrels here in Philly.

I think watching the seasons change is absolutely beautiful and it makes you remember the "little" things in life that we often overlook in our day to day activities.

I'm excited for some hot chocolate!

Fall can be so beautiful - cool nights, warm lovely days, gorgeous trees, football games (Hubby works at Northwestern U. so Big Ten is fun!), big fat squirrels, etc. The only bad thing is winter follows. UGH! It lasts forever in Chicago. This past year we didn't have spring to speak of and it finally got consistently in the 70's at the end of June. Yukk - not my kind of weather at all. Maybe retirement will send us south =). In the meantime, enjoy the fall!

LOL, that's my favourite temperature of all! Especially at this time of year when the mornings are crisp, then it warms up to the low to mid 70s. Perfect weather, for me at least.

    We're never happy, are we!

Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Hmmmm, sounds like me every time I see a wolf spider in my house. Even though pest control came out to spray outside of the house, those horribly scary things are still getting into the house.

I love Spring and Fall, wish it could feel like this year round. We are having awesome weather here in Texas. It is in the 60's in the morning and warms up to the high 70's or low 80's during the day. We are enjoying the cooler temps, going and taking walks, feeding the ducks and geese at the pond, riding bikes and letting the kids play out in the front yard in the afternoons/evenings, when everyone is outside and they can play with all the other kids. We will probably have this weather until December, there will be a few cold days; but mostly nice outside.
