If she can come up with $40,000+, she too can own one! My brother law bought that 3 years ago, when he hit his 'midlife' crisis. He said, "I'm almost done raising 2 kids, put braces on both of them twice, paying for one's college, bought them cars and now it is time for me" He had that bike custom made for him, it is a Fat Boy Screaming Eagle. The engine, is a Screaming Eagle, which they only make a limited quanity of each year.

Mary- Your dog is so stinkin' cute!

Todd- Love the dog and the Robin eggs are awesome. We have resident Barn Swallows that nest on our front porch every year. They will have 2 or 3 sets of babies throughout the Summer. It is really neat for the kids to get to see the babies get big, learn to fly and leave the nest (and boy they do it quickly, glad kids don't grow that fast!). They were just eggs 3 or 4 weeks ago, and today I saw all 5 babies fly for the first time. I will have to snap a picture of them, really cute. The nest is a real tight fit though, 7 birds, one small nest (the dad usually sits on the frame of the front door now).

Katie- Your horses are gorgeous, I used to ride and loved it. Horses are such fun companions and just so beautiful (and majestic). I could go on and on. I love the kitties, they look so cuddly. My brother has 2 cats that all have 7 toes on each foot (I think one of them has 8). It is hilarious when they are babies and they have those big wide feet and little bitty bodies! Your dog is cute too. Maybe I need to just come to Canada and play with yours and Mary's pets!

You would all be most welcome, but give me a little warning...an hour or two would be good. We have three spare rooms now that we've moved our bed into the old dining room. We live in a weird sort of house, part 1817 log house, and part new construction that wanders all over the place, which gives us lots of privacy . The little library off the bedroom/old dining area used to be the 'birthing room'. We've been lucky enough to learn most of the history of the original homestead, and a Prime Minister or two apparently used to stay here back in the early 1900s.

I keep saying that I miss working with the horses so much, but I get almost as much pleasure by just watching them graze and play in the pasture outside my studio window. They are a huge part of our family and I'm truly spoiled in so many ways. KBear, I have ridden very little, and drive the horses instead, either with a two wheeled wooden Mennonite cart or a cross-country four wheeled carriage. My husband just started to learn how to drive when my old steady gelding died and my back gave out.

I was always one of those horse crazy girls, but never lucky enough to own one. I got a six month old colt just after I got married, a loooong time ago, and he pulled the carriage at my second wedding. It was a sad day when we lost the old guy at 28 years of age, just before we moved here. He's the one in the avatar picture taken just after we unharnessed him on our wedding day.

You guys have the most gorgeous dogs too! Mary, is that a Yorkie? Adorable! What wonderful companions you all have. Do they get you up in the mornings like mine do? Some days they are the reason to go on.

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Make sure to go back to "My Albums" in Photobucket. You have to click below the picture on the IMG code that reads something like this:

    [img ]cindylou's image .... [img ]

If you just click the text it will Copy it for you and all you have to do is Paste it into this message window when you are replying to a thread.

BTW...you're not a dope. It is really confusing at first, but then you'll get the hang of it.

    Default Cabin pic

Pet Pictures: Post 'em if you got 'em!-dscf0103.jpg

I was trying to post a picture of my dog at the cabin, but that upload keeps failing for some reason. So here is one that went through of our cabin, in the den looking into the kitchen. It's a tiny cabin, but very cozy.
