    Default Sophie update

So, I drove home from the cabin last night after a week's worth of time up there with miss Sophie, and I am here to report her recovery has been nothing short of amazing. I was looking for her around bedtime last night, and she had already gone all the way upstairs into our bedroom, sleeping comfortably. I still have the appt. this Wednesday with the vet neurologist at the U. of M. So we'll see if we can find out what caused the stroke, and what her future looks like. Just ever grateful that she appears so happy and is walking so well. Her confidence level is definitely way up too. Color me one happy camper.

:thumpup:This is GREAT news. I got a late start on this thread, but am happty to see that all is well. I get more nervous about my dogs being sick than I do about my human family -- probably because they can't tell us what hurts!

Best of luck to you and Sophie! The U of M has a fabulous veterinarian program - when I lived in MN that was always my best source when there were issues with my Miniature Schnauzers.

CL- That is awesome news! I know you were worried about her and I hope that takes a weight off your chest. Praying for many more happy years with Sophie.

I laughed when I read that she went upstairs to bed. My dog has a bed in our living room (he has to be right by us, sometimes he has to be touching some part of you) and a bed in our bedroom. At bedtime, he either is already in bed or follows us to bed. He stays all night in his bed, right by ours. Sometimes the cats will get in his bed with him and they will all be cuddled up together.... it's sweet.

    Hallelujah!!!! Ya think I'm happy??

I've been holding my breath for you and Miss Sophie for awhile now, and almost afraid to check on this thread. You've really made my day!

I hope the appointment goes well and he has some optimistic words for you. Now go enjoy the rest of your week.
