    Default Sophie is doing great!

I just cannot get over how well Sophie is doing. In fact, when my husband and I were commenting about her steady progress, she knew we were discussing her, and danced a little jig in a circle for us. Taking it one day at a time, but ever grateful for such good days. Sophie is doing great!-dscf0384.jpg

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

I kinda liked the old one. Made me think of my (cold) roots in MN! I've been mostly away since only 2006, but it is still "home" for me.

Thanks all. Well, I decided to show my face, (he he) but I am going to put a winter one back up for sure, with the change of the season. I bought my husband a new ice fishing house for his birthday, so I'll try and get some good pics while we're testing it out this winter. Thanks also for all the good vibes and well wishes towards Sophie.
